Thank you, Jim. It’s a nice reminder. And if I might add, it really boils down to this: He is the Creator and we are His creatures. I honestly think it relieves us of the burden of having to do it all ourselves. God bless your ministry and enjoy your day!
Thank you, Presbytera Barbara. It is always a joy to hear from you. It is a good reminder that He wants to hear our prayers, even when we ask for things that He is already going to provide—the same way our children came to us asking for things.
Such bullshit - the fairy tale believers can justify anything to support their ridiculous belief in this or any of the thousands of historical gods invented for the brain dead.
It is easy to think that prayer to any deity is BS. After all, you can't see God. You can't audibly hear Him. Why talk to Him? Better yet, why ask Him for something? Sounds reasonable. This is where faith becomes important. Now, before you say that faith is nonsense, we all show faith in things. You have faith in your car when you turn the key. It is based on experience that it started last time. You have faith in a chair that it will not collapse when you sit in it because...well, we assume that the person who built it did his job.
The Bible doesn't tell us to have blind faith or faith without evidence that God exists. That would be dangerous. There are signs all around us.
"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:" Romans 1:18-20
Sure, there are many false gods, and praying to them will bring about nothing. And sure, even praying to the One True God means that if He sees fit to delay an answer to a prayer because there is something better for a person, He will do it, much like a parent will delay giving to a pleading child. However, God hears the prayers of His children. If you choose not to believe this, He will honor your belief and not listen to you as you speak. It is your right as a creation with free will.
This reply has so little logic to it that it is not worth my time to reply. If I could lose about 50 IQ points, some of his points might make some sense, but alas... BTW, your boy is doing a great job as usual in SOCAL.
